If you lose something — or someone
Lost-and-found desks run at the Palace North Gate and beside the Bannimantap stands through the festival, staffed by the police and volunteers. For a missing child, go to the nearest police post or call 112 immediately; every post has a radio link to the control room and the procession-day PA system.

What is the Nada Habba?
Mysuru Dasara is the Nada Habba — the state festival of Karnataka. It is also Navaratri, the nine nights, with the tenth day Vijayadashami the most auspicious of the festival, celebrating the victory of good over evil.
What are the helpline numbers?
112 for any emergency; 108 for an ambulance; 1077 for the Dasara control room; Tourist Police on 0821-2418111. All are free and answer around the clock.
How do I get around the city?
Auto-rickshaws usually run on the meter, with pre-paid stands at the railway station and bus stand. Ola and Uber operate. Tongas wait at the Palace. Through the festival, free shuttles run from every parking hub. See Travel.
How do I reach Mysuru?
By train to Mysuru Junction from Bengaluru, Chennai and Mangaluru; by KSRTC bus every five minutes from Bengaluru; by road on the Expressway; or by air into Mysuru or Bengaluru. See How to reach.
What is Mysuru famous for?
Silk — the KSIC Mysore Silk sarees; sandalwood carving and oil; agarbathi; Mysore Pak; the Mysore Masala Dosa; and Devaraja Market, one of the country’s great produce markets.
Is there a dress code?
No general code. In the Palace Durbar Hall and the temples modest dress is expected and footwear is removed.
Is Dasara accessible for wheelchair users?
Yes — the ticketed galleries have step-free access and reserved positions, the Palace has ramps to the ground floor, and the shuttles are low-floor. Call 1077 ahead of the day to arrange gallery assistance.
Can I fly a drone?
No. The city is a no-drone zone through the festival. Media drones require a police permit issued through the press desk.
