Accessibility statement
This website is built to be used by everyone, whatever device or assistive technology they use. Here is what that means in practice, and where we are still short.

Draft policy text for review by the Department’s legal cell before publication. It follows the Information Technology Act 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites.
Standard
The site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at level AA and to the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW 3.0). It is tested with keyboard-only navigation, VoiceOver and NVDA, and at 200% zoom.
Accessibility features
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone; a “skip to content” link is the first focusable element.
- Headings, landmarks and lists are marked up so screen readers can navigate by structure.
- Images carry text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Text and interface colours meet the AA contrast ratio, including on the dark palette.
- Text resizes to 200% without loss of content; the layout adapts from 320px wide.
- Animation respects the reduce motion system setting — the fireworks, the mascots and the reveal transitions are disabled when it is on.
- Content is available in English, Kannada and Hindi; the language switch is in the header of every page.
- Videos are embedded with captions where the broadcaster provides them.
Known issues
- The interactive maps (venue guide, emergency points, attractions) are not fully operable by screen reader; each map has a text list of the same points beside it, and the helplines are listed in text.
- Live streams depend on YouTube’s player and its captioning.
- Some archive photographs in the gallery have generic alternative text.
These are scheduled for the next release.
Accessibility at the venues
Reserved wheelchair enclosures at the Palace forecourt and Bannimantap, ramped access and accessible toilets at the main venues, priority queues for senior citizens and golf-cart transfers from the Palace parking hub.
